Fourth of July Weekend is the biggest weekend of the summer, with lots of great Independence Day celebrations in our local communities! See below for preliminary details, and keep an eye out for a full schedule in a few weeks with our July 4th Events Lineupnewsletter.


 

PARK CITY CELEBRATIONS

Park City’s Independence Day celebrations are set for Friday, July 4! The festivities will include a fun run, parade, games, food, fun, and a drone show! Check here for more info on this popular event.

OAKLEY CELEBRATIONS & 90th ANNUAL RODEO

The 90th Annual Oakley Rodeo is one of the top rodeos in the nation, and it is one of the “must-do” events of the summer. An all-day Independence Day celebration on July 4th adds to the fun, and the second annual Xtreme Bulls Tour on the 7th is an exciting addition to Oakley’s summer schedule.

RED, WHITE,& BLUE FESTIVAL

July 4 | All Day | Heber City More info

Head to Heber for the Red, White, and Blue Festival! The fun-filled day kicks off with hot air balloons and a 5K and a 10K run/walk, followed by a bi-plane fly over, flag ceremony, rotary breakfast, and parade. There will also be live entertainment, a sidewalk art contest, carnival, strong man contest, pie eating competition, fireworks, and more!

MIDWAY CELEBRATIONS

Celebrate Independence Day with Midway’s Small Town July 4th celebration. Sponsored by Midway Boosters and Midway City, this is a family-friendly day full of festivities that includes a flag ceremony, pancake breakfast, bike parade, and an amazing fireworks display after dusk.

The Friends of the Library are hosting their summer book sale. Shop hundreds of bargain-priced books, with prices ranging from one to three dollars. From picture books to popular fiction, the sale has something for everyone! Book donations are welcome at the library up to one week before the sale.

KIMBALL ARTS FESTIVAL

The 56th Annual Kimball Arts Festival returns to Historic Main Street in Park City, Utah, bringing with it one of the nation’s premier celebrations of the arts. The annual Swiss Days event takes place the Friday and Saturday before Labor Day each year and draws a huge crowd both days. YOUNG RIDERS BIKE PROGRAM

The Young Riders Youth Cycling program was founded in 1996 as a way to keep kids happy and healthy when the snow melts. The program works to improve fitness, build friendships, explore the environment, and establish responsibility in youths. Summer mountain bike programs run from June – August for ages 6-16 years old, with week-long and full summer programs.

Park City Trail Series is a 3-race series that runs from June – August. It starts with a 5K and works up to a half marathon. The courses are forgiving enough for new trail runners but bring the excitement that seasoned trail runners love

 

TRIPLE TRAIL CHALLENGE

Round Valley Rambler Half& 7K – June 14
Jupiter Peak 25K – July 19
Mid Mountain 50K – August 16

This series of races provides the ultimate summer challenge! Complete all three events, including the Round Valley Rambler Half Marathon& 7K, Jupiter Peak 25K, and Mid Mountain 50K. You’ll earn bragging rights!

RESORT MOUNTAIN BIKING

PARK CITY | June 14 – early fall

Park City’s abundant trails offer access to the mountain for those with an intermediate mountain bike skill set and above. Lift-served mountain bike haul access is available by the day or for the summer season. More info!

DEER VALLEY® | June 20 through mid-September More info!

Deer Valley’s mountain bike trails are open mid-June to early September. Note that due to construction of the new Pinyon Express lift, mountain biking will be limited to lower mountain trails this summer. However, the good news is that all trails should be open next summer, and in the meantime Deer Valley has joined with Solitude to offer the new Wasatch Gravity Pass, which offers access to lift-served hiking and biking at both resorts.

 

THE WASATCH 50 RACE

The Wasatch 50 course is a truly epic route through some of Utah’s beautiful high country. The course features prolonged climbing, ripping singletrack through Aspens, and rock-strewn descents. A true mountain bike epic!
